Sally Van Antwerp Lantz died December 19, 2012. She graduated from PHS and Michigan State University. She also attended Towson University (Maryland) and McDaniel College where she earned her Master’s in library science. She taught school in Carroll County (Maryland) and was a school media specialist in Frederick County (Maryland), as well as her favorite job as librarian at Fairhaven Retirement Community (Maryland). She had two children, Susan and Jamie.
I remember spending time with Sally in her home and remember the ribbons she won horse riding hanging on her wall. I still have the letters I received from her when she was in Peru. I can hear her talk about the things we talked about as I read the letters. Ah, the concerns we had at 17.
I remember accompanying Sally on her clarinet for 5th or 6th grade graduation at Bird School. We practiced and practiced at her house. It was a piece from My Fair Lady! Huh??????
