Richard lived in Frains Lake when in high school and later bought and remodeled a house next to the old school that sits near the former gas station on Plymouth Road. I knew him from school and he was a neighbor when I lived in Frains Lake for 3 years after high school. He owned a successful company, Old School Construction. We saw him over the years at our local lumber yard in Ann Arbor. He was a skilled woodworker. He had one son, Ben, 34, who took over the company when Richard died in February of 2007 from heart failure. Ben lived in that house his entire life until recently. Richard had one grandson.
